“癌化学療法における薬剤耐性機構の解明とその克服”及び“薬物輸送機構に基づいた創薬分子デザイン”を目的とし、ABCトランスポーターファミリーに属するABCG2に特に着目し、ABCG2とその遺伝子多型による基質認識機構や基質特異性について、更には本トランスポーターの耐性因子や基質の体内動態の決定因子としての位置付けを明確にすることを主要研究テーマとした。
