Study on educational effectiveness of class for high school students in learning prisoner’s dilemma Reviewed

We created teaching materials on game theory for high school students to learn about prisoners’ dilemmas through various scenarios and to develop the qualities and abilities to analyze real-world dilemmas. We presented a model class using these materials in a high school, and subsequently conducted a questionnaire survey that confirmed that our model class has the following educational effectiveness: First, students who developed an understanding of the concept of dilemmas simultaneously understood the structures in which a prisoner’s dilemma arises. Second, students who understood the example of solution to prisoner’s dilemma simultaneously had the motivation to explore the solution to prisoners’ dilemmas that emerge around them. In addition, students realized that prisoner’s dilemmas occur in various real-world scenarios and in daily life, and that it is a feature of the prisoner's dilemma for players to maximize their payoffs.
